About the Bible Study Series
Here are some Bible study lessons for adults who are learning English. These lessons will help you read and understand the book of Luke in the Bible. While children may also enjoy these lessons, I also have Sunday School materials that may be better for a younger audience.
All lessons on this website are protected by copyright, but you can use them for free in small groups or Bible classes. You may share a link to this page, but please do not copy these pages and put them on other websites.
This study series is for people who speak English at an advanced beginner or intermediate level. You might be a Christian, or you might just be curious about what the Bible says. Either way, you are welcome here.
These lessons use the Good News Translation (GNT) of the Bible. This version was chosen because it uses simple words and is easier to read. You can read a short and easy explanation about this choice in the lesson called ELL Lesson 0: Introduction to Luke. If you want to learn even more about why this Bible was chosen, you can read Choosing the Right Bible Translation: A Comparison of 7 Versions.
Each lesson will have:
- An Ice Breaker Question
- A Lesson Highlight
- A Vocabulary List
- A Summary of the Passage
- The Passage using the GNT translation of the Bible
- Comprehension Questions
- Application Questions
- Theological Insights
- A Short Prayer
- A Free Printable with the Comprehension Questions, Application Questions, and Theological Insights
I hope these lessons help you grow in your English skills and also help you learn about the good news of Jesus.
