Welcome! This month, we are learning how to talk to God and trust him. This guide is here to help you grow your faith and practice your English skills at the same time. Each week, you will find new vocabulary words. Each day, you will find a simple Bible verse from the Easy-to-Read Version of the Bible, helpful information to explain the context, questions to think about, a simple prayer, and a way to read more. We will focus on these four themes: trusting God’s plan, asking God for help, growing in faith, and loving other people.
ACTS Prayer Method
We will use the ACTS way to pray.
- Adoration: Tell God he is great.
- Confession: Tell God you are sorry for bad things you did.
- Thankfulness: Say “thank you” for the good things.
- Supplication: Ask God for help for yourself or others.
If helpful, you can use a prayer journal template.
Let’s begin our journey together!

Your voice is peaceful and true.
I am sorry for wandering away from you to do my own thing.
Thank you for always calling me back to the right path.

What are you hoping for right now?
How is faith like proof?
How can faith make your hopes feel real?

Day 21: Jesus Lives in My Heart

Day 22: God’s Free Gift of Grace
Bible Verse:
I mean that you have been saved by grace because you believed. You did not save yourselves; it was a gift from God. You are not saved by the things you have done, so there is nothing to boast about. God has made us what we are. In Christ Jesus, God made us new people so that we would spend our lives doing the good things he had already planned for us to do. – Ephesians 2:8-10 (ERV)
About This Verse:
Grace is a very important word. It means getting a beautiful gift that you did not earn and do not deserve. We cannot be good enough to get to God. He just gives us his love as a free gift. This makes us new people.
Think About:
Have you ever received a gift you didn’t earn?
Why is it good that we don’t have to save ourselves?
What good things do you think God has planned for you?
Talk to God:
Dear God,
Your grace is the most beautiful gift in the world.
I am sorry for boasting about my own good works.
Thank you for making me a new person through Jesus.
Please show me the good things you want me to do today.
Amen.

Think About:
How can you hold firmly to your faith this week?
What is one thing you can do today in love?
Why do we need courage to believe?
Talk to God:

Love is the most important part of the Bible. God is love, and he wants us to be like him. When we follow God, we learn how to be kind and helpful to our family, friends, and neighbors. About This Verse:
Jesus was a great teacher. One day, people asked him what the most important rule was. He said the first rule is to love God. The second rule is to love other people. In Christianity, a neighbor is anyone you meet, not just the person who lives in the house next to you.
Think About:
How can you love God with your mind?
Who is a neighbor you saw today?
Is it hard to love others as much as you love yourself?
Talk to God:
Heavenly Father,
You are the greatest King and you are good.
I am sorry for being selfish and putting myself first.
Thank you for teaching me the best way to live.
Please help me to be kind to my neighbor today.
Amen.

Bible Verse:
I give you a new command: Love each other. You must love each other just as I loved you. All people will know that you are my followers if you love each other. – John 13:34-35 (ERV)
About This Verse:
Jesus said this to his friends. He wanted everyone to know who his friends were by how they acted. He said that love is like a uniform. If we love each other, everyone will see that we belong to God.
Think About:
How did Jesus show love to people?
Do people see that you are a kind person?
Why is love a good way to show you follow God?
Talk to God:

Bible Verse:
Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous, it does not brag, and it is not proud. Love is not rude, it is not selfish, and it cannot be made angry easily. Love does not remember wrongs done against it. Love is never happy when others do wrong, but it is always happy with the truth. – 1 Corinthians 13:4-6 (ERV)

Does love act proud or rude?
Why is love happy with the truth?
Talk to God:
Heavenly Father,
You are patient and very kind to me.
I am sorry for being rude or jealous this week.
Thank you for being a God who is always happy with the truth.
Please help me to be patient and kind today.
Amen.

Day 30: Living Together in Peace

How can love help your family stay together?
What does unity look like at your job or school?
Why is love the most important part of your new life?
Talk to God:
Dear God,
You bring peace and unity to the whole world.
I am sorry for the times I caused a fight or a problem.
Thank you for the people who love me and keep me safe.

Day 31: God Loved Us First
Bible Verse:
We love because God first loved us. – 1 John 4:19 (ERV)
About This Verse:
This is a very short but powerful verse. It says that we don’t have to start the love by ourselves. God loved us first, even before we knew him! Because he loves us so much, we have enough love to share with everyone else.
Think About:
When did you first feel God’s love?
Is it easier to love others when you know God loves you?
Who can you share love with today?
Talk to God:
Heavenly Father,
You loved me first and you love me most.
I am sorry for forgetting how much you care about me.
Thank you for being the source of all the love I have.
Please help me to honor you by loving others today.
Amen.
