A Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
You are the God of peace. From the very beginning, you have sought to bring reconciliation between yourself and humanity, and through Jesus, you made a way for true and lasting peace. You call your children to be peacemakers, to reflect your character by bringing harmony where there is division and love where there is conflict. Your peace is not just the absence of strife but the presence of wholeness, healing, and righteousness.
I confess that I do not always seek peace. Too often, I choose pride over humility, anger over understanding, and division over reconciliation. I hold on to grudges when I should offer grace. I avoid difficult conversations when I should pursue healing. I ask for your forgiveness for the times I have contributed to discord rather than seeking peace.
Thank you for the perfect peace you offer through Jesus, who has reconciled us to you. Thank you for your patience in teaching me how to live as a peacemaker, even when it is difficult. I am grateful that you do not call me to this task alone, but that you equip me through your Spirit and guide me with your wisdom.
Lord, help me to be a peacemaker in my relationships, my community, and the world around me. Give me a heart that values unity over division, humility over pride, and love over resentment. Teach me to listen before I speak, to seek understanding over being right, and to extend grace even when it is undeserved. Let my actions reflect your peace, so that others may see you in me and be drawn to the true peace that only you can give.
In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
