A Prayer for the Ability to Reflect God’s Goodness

A Prayer for the Ability to Reflect God’s Goodness

A Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

You are perfectly good, and your goodness is evident in all that you have created and done. Your word tells us that every good and perfect gift comes from you, and that your goodness is constant and unchanging. You are good in your justice, your mercy, and your love. You call us to reflect your goodness in our lives.

I confess that I often fail to reflect your goodness. In particular, sometimes I get so angry with other Christians who don’t share my opinions. My actions can be self-serving, my thoughts can be unkind, and my words can fall short of bringing glory to you. I am tempted by the things of this world and too often allow them to overshadow your goodness in my life. Please forgive me for these shortcomings and help me to walk in your ways.

Thank you for the countless ways you have shown your goodness to me. Thank you for your provision, your guidance, and your grace that sustains me daily. Most of all, I thank you for the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ, the ultimate expression of your goodness and love for us.

Lord, I ask you to help me grow in the ability to reflect your goodness. Teach me to act with integrity, to seek justice, and to show mercy in all that I do. Let my words, actions, and attitudes be a testament to your goodness, pointing others to you. Fill me with your Spirit so that your goodness overflows in my life and touches the lives of those around me.

In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
