A Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
You are a God of endless kindness and compassion. Your word tells us that your kindness leads us to repentance, and your love is expressed through your care and provision for us each day. You show kindness in both the smallest details and the greatest gifts, including the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ.
I confess that I often fail to show kindness in my words, actions, and thoughts. I can be quick to judge, slow to help, or indifferent when others need encouragement or support. Please forgive me for the times I have missed opportunities to reflect your kindness to those around me. I especially pray that you will help me to be patient with all of the Christians around me that I disagree with. Help me to set aside selfishness and pride so that I can truly care for others as you do.
Thank you for the kindness you have shown to me, even when I have not deserved it. Thank you for your patience when I falter, for your provision in times of need. Thank you for the people in my life who have modeled your kindness through their love and support. Help me to be like them!
Lord, I ask you to cultivate the fruit of kindness in my life. Teach me to see others through your eyes and to respond to their needs with compassion and grace. Let my words be uplifting and my actions reflect your love. Help me to be a light in a world that often feels cold and unkind. I want to point others to your goodness through the kindness I show! Please help my life bring honor to you as I strive to follow your example.
In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
