A Prayer for Embracing Joy

A Prayer for Embracing Joy

A Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

You are the giver of true joy, a joy that is not dependent on circumstances but rooted in your presence and promises. Your word tells us that joy is a fruit of the Spirit, and in your presence, there is fullness of joy. You invite us to rejoice always, trusting in your goodness and sovereignty no matter what we face.

I confess that I often allow my joy to be stolen by worries, frustrations, or unmet expectations. Instead of finding joy in you, I seek it in temporary things that cannot satisfy. I focus too much on what is wrong rather than on the blessings you have given me. Please forgive me for failing to trust in your goodness and for letting temporary trials overshadow the eternal joy you offer.

Thank you for the joy that comes from knowing you and walking in your ways. Thank you for the beauty of your creation, the love of family and friends, and the countless ways you show your care. Most of all, thank you for the joy of salvation through Jesus Christ, who endured the cross so that we might have life and joy in abundance.

Lord, I ask you to help me embrace joy each day. Teach me to fix my eyes on you and to find delight in your presence, even in the midst of challenges. Fill my heart with gratitude so that I may rejoice in every blessing, both big and small. Let my joy be contagious, reflecting your Spirit in me, and drawing others to the hope and peace that come from knowing you.

In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
