Exploring the pros and cons of different Bible reading methods adds an intriguing dimension to one’s spiritual journey. For some, the tactile experience of a traditional printed Bible holds immense appeal, allowing them to annotate, highlight, and turn physical pages. On the other hand, many find the convenience of electronic devices like phones, tablets, or computers to be their preferred medium.
Personally, I gravitate towards using my phone. Its compact size fits easily into my hand and makes it easily portable, ensuring I always have access to the scriptures. However, there are situations where either a printed Bible or a computer proves more practical. A printed study Bible becomes invaluable when seeking additional context or explanations. When teaching ESL classes, the versatility of a computer shines as I can effortlessly display various Bible versions side-by-side. If the language complexity of the New International Version (NIV) or English Standard Version (ESV) proves challenging, a seamless switch to the Good News Translation (GNT) or the student’s native language becomes readily achievable.
