Ruth 2:12 Bible Verse: Boaz’s Blessing and Taking Refuge in God

Ruth 2:12 (WEB) - A Memory Verse

Ruth 2:12

When looking at Ruth 2, the blessing that Boaz gives to Ruth makes an excellent memory verse:

May Yahweh repay your work, and a full reward be given to you from Yahweh, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge.”

Ruth 2:12 (WEB)

As Boaz observes Ruth working in the field, he makes note of the care that she has provided to Naomi. Until this point, he probably had only heard that the widow of one of his relatives had returned to the area with a foreign daughter-in-law. Now Boaz has the opportunity to see what kind of woman Ruth is. All he sees is hard work and dedication, which leads to this delightful blessing.

Ruth had the option of staying with her family in Moab, but she had such a strong love of Naomi and Naomi’s God, that she left everything and moved to the land of Judah. Boaz makes note of this in his blessing and asks God to reward Ruth for her faith.
